This week, i learned about CSS (cascading style sheet). Basically, it defines how the html elements are displayed.

First you must add link rel= 'stylesheet' href='the name of your file.css'>

Then add the elements that you want to change

Front-family: the front the words will be.

Front-size: you desired size of text

Text-decoration: underline, italic, etc

Colour: can be in hexadecimal code or just the name of the colour

Front- weight: Bold

basically this are the basics to designing a blog.

This week, i learned about html, or some of you might call it hyper text markup language. Basically, is it a set of commands that tells the browser what information to display, for example if you want to display an image, you can write in .

Through the forum on social impact of new media i have made this conclusion:

i also think that technology has made a significant impact on us. In the pass, we use to get newspaper sent to our houses in the morning, it is still this way for us but there is a few alternative, the internet and the hand phone. Go to any news site like Channel News Asian and you can get news instantly for free. Also, some hand phone users subscribe to Reuters so we can get breaking news straight away every day.
i think social networking is a great way to meet friends. networks such as twitter and facebook are the common ones. at first, i did not know my friend's brothers or sisters, but through social networking, i knew them. also in primary school, i did not know much people from other classes except for my basketball friends. but when i joined some social networks, i made friends with my school mates.

And through the forum about copyright, i made this conclusion:
indeed this is wrong. through this, i learned that we should only copy things for personal use and should always seek the acknowledge of the copyright holder. if not, the copyright owner has the right to sue you and thus we will regret. we should always think before copy or downloading any file from now on.

Today will be my first post for my IS lesson studies.

So today we went for IS class at 1240.

Then there was the lecture. Very interesting

We learnt about the internet's history.

It started out as the arpanet which was first used to let scientist at different places share their information and to function when other methods were unavailable.

Then we learned about internet providers, who controls the internet and how it works

. Then there was the IP address. The IP address is a series of codes that is just like the address of your house. When we type in a link, the computer automatically translates it into an IP address.

The url, which stands for uniform resource locater, is basically the link on your internet server.

We also learned about the search engines, such as google and yahoo! And the hits.

FTP- file transfer protocol. it is basically to upload and download with other computers.
